Project Manager

 

I.        Position Summary:

Manages all aspects of multi-disciplinary In-Situ Thermal Remediation (ISTR) projects.  Develops strategy, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and executes the project or program, responsible for customer satisfaction and financial performance.

 

II.      Major Responsibilities:

1.    Coordinates and writes proposals by assigning responsibilities to subordinate team personnel, defining scope of work, and accurately estimating cost to successfully generate project work yielding the target profit margin.  Reviews contracts, understanding legal implications in order to successfully manage risk to the company.  Plans projects, assigning accounting codes, identifying the project team, determining specific project requirements, coordinating subcontractor bids and awards, establishing supplier accounts, and conducting kickoff meetings to ensure systematic execution of project work. 

2.    Manages communications with client and project team, including subcontractors and vendors, to ensure mutual understanding of project and client requirements.  Ensures that project team is responsive to client.  Defines scope of work and effectively manages changes in scope including client funding.  Assists client with agency negotiations by providing technical resources, and supports client’s regulatory compliance efforts associated with implementing ISTR.

3.   Controls project cost, schedule, and quality of work.  Makes decisions concerning approved expenditures to meet project budget, preventing the need for write-offs, and maximizing project margin.  Reviews, communicates, and manages the project health and safety plan so that project personnel, client, and subcontractors are aware of risks and hazards, and accidents are prevented.

4.    Assures that peer review, quality assurance/quality control, and other applicable standard operating procedures are followed throughout the project.

5.   Mentors staff personnel, providing leadership and an environment that encourages safety, teamwork, initiative, and growth.

6.   Maintains knowledge of new regulatory and technical developments related to ISTR to provide the most effective solutions to client’s remediation problems.

III.    Qualifications:
  •  Experience - a minimum of 5 years experience in the environmental remediation          business, including project management of large projects or programs
  • Preferred experience in a remediation technology environment
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word,   Excel, and        Project
  •      2- or 4-year degree in related technical discipline or 15 years of project management experience

  •      OSHA 40-hour Health and Safety training and keeps current on same. 

 

Project Engineer I

 

I.        Position Summary:

This position reports to the engineering manager and is responsible for engineering and related activities associated with ISTR projects, including quantity take-offs, field engineering, cost estimation, system design, equipment and material procurement and fabrication, system startup, data management and reporting, assisting with work plan preparation, system troubleshooting and ISTR system operation for TerraTherm. 

II.      Responsibilities May Include the Following:
A.  Design Engineering

1.       Assist with preparation of design work plans, from conceptual design through detailed design packages.  Typical design tasks will include preparation of well field layouts, mechanical and piping layouts, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and electrical circuit calculation, along with accompanying details as applicable. 

2.       Develop equipment schedules and material takeoffs; prepare requests for bids for subcontractors and material vendors.   Compare bids and recommend the selection of subcontractors and material vendors.  Prepare construction and equipment specifications (means and methods).

3.       Perform site visits on new project opportunities to determine the available site power, and utility/facility constraints, collect information regarding construction permits, evaluate potential site support contractors, and assist with preparation of cost estimates.

B.  Field Engineering and Project Support

1.       Assist the TerraTherm construction supervisor and system operators with equipment commissioning and startup, as well as troubleshooting (as necessary) and operations. 

2.       Perform role of field engineer, including supervision of subcontractors, review of daily work production reports, cost, schedule and budget.   Communicate issues with project manager or construction manager as directed by the project manager.

·         Verify that daily production reports are maintained,

·         Prepare fabrication drawings, fabrication supervision and QA/QC,

·         Perform field QA/QC supervisor to ensure construction work is performed in accordance with design specification,

·         Update project manager and client on design and performance issues.

3.       Maintain ISTR System Monitoring Documentation

·         Create and update system monitoring database, prepare data trends, perform data analyses as directed by the Project Manager and determine when system performance data suggests cleanup targets have been achieved. 

4.       Communicate and coordinate work quality or safety concerns with the TerraTherm Project Manager, Construction Supervisor, or others as necessary to ensure proper and safe completion of the project.

5.       Travel as necessary to perform position description duties.  Expected travel time is 20% to 80% for up to 4 weeks at one time.

III.    Qualifications:
·         At least 2 years direct engineering experience, must demonstrate hands-on electrical and/or mechanical design and troubleshooting experience
  • Environmental remediation background
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word,    Excel, AutoCAD and scheduling software
  •  2- or 4-year degree in engineering or related technical discipline

Site Supervisor II

 

I.        Position Summary:

Field Management of multi-disciplinary, In-Situ Thermal Remediation (ISTR) site construction projects with overall site management responsibility. Activities include health and safety, project scheduling, site construction/operation, reporting, and job cost tracking.  The position requires previous experience with large-scale construction sites and previous experience with in-situ remediation systems, including electrical and treatment equipment.

II.      Major Responsibilities of Site Supervisor:

1.   Assist with project work plan review and preparation, project schedule, staffing and work scope.  Coordinate with project manager and project engineer regarding job schedule, budget and cost tracking.  

2.   Work with engineering to finalize site details and then mobilize to the job site to set up all site facilities, and layout the thermal well field. 

3.   Manage and participate in site construction, schedule, budget and quality.  Construction typically includes the installation of subsurface and aboveground equipment, startup and shake down, along with troubleshooting and repairs as required.   Inform project manger as to updates on schedule, cost or client issues, immediately upon discovery of an issue.

4.    Enforce compliance with all Health and Safety Plans, ensure company policies and programs are followed without exception.

5.   Assist with project estimating on new opportunities or bids.

6.   On assigned projects, supervise and schedule all TerraTherm project site workers and subcontractors during construction.

7.   Prepare daily reports that document activities completed, materials received and costs expended.

8.   Mentor staff personnel, providing leadership and an environment that encourages safety, teamwork, initiative, and growth.

9.   Maintain knowledge of new regulatory and technical developments related to ISTD/ISTR to provide the most effective solutions to client’s remediation problems

III.    Qualifications:

1.      Four (4) to ten (10) years of experience in the field management of large scale engineering or construction projects, operation and maintenance of in-situ remediation, thermal systems and treatment equipment.

2.      Three or more years of experience with construction and supervision of thermal remediation systems and equipment is preferred.

3.      Education: 2-or 4-year degree in related discipline or eight (8)+ years of supervisory/management experience.

4.      OSHA 40-hour Health and Safety training, 8-hour refresher training, 8-hour supervisor training.

Sales and Marketing Administrator

 

This position reports to the CEO and is responsible for the pre-sales activities, sales administration and support as well as the coordination of the marketing activities for TerraTherm. 

      Marketing:   

      Manage the marketing department and company materials:

  •         Assist in the development of the marketing strategy

  •        Manage the marketing budget

  •        Create and/or maintain marketing material, including direct mail,   literature, information sheets, newsletters and any company sales and      marketing material

  •        Develop the materials necessary to support the marketing strategy

  •        Support the maintenance of the corporate website

  •        Coordinate Conferences:

  •       Prepare and manage all aspects of conferences and meetings

  •       Coordinate staff to solicit ideas to maximize throughput at events

Sales Support:  Update, maintain and manage contact management software

  •           Input lead information from staff, inquiries or events as necessary

  •        Update appropriate staff with sales activities and sales reports

  •        Utilize the system to track all notes and conversations from pre-sales activities, as well as sales activity updates from staff

  •        Ensure that all information in the system is accurate and up-to-date

  •        Develop canned and ad-hoc reports on an as-needed bases

  •           Provide support to TerraTherm’s sales team

  •           Coordinate with sales team to provide assistance as necessary to follow up on sales leads

 Additional Responsibilities:
  •         Assists with production of project documents as needed

  •         Layout and coordinate production of any posters needed for     presentations

  Experience Required:
  •        Strong computer skills, including proficiency with recent versions of MS Office, Adobe In-Design (or equivalent) and contact management software (preferably Salesforce.com). 

  •      Graphic design experience a plus

  •           4-year degree or 2-3 years of demonstrated related experience

Fabrication Craftsman

  •  Minimum 5 years of craft experience in metal and equipment fabrication.  Work including steel and stainless steel components using stick, MIG and TIG welding methods.  
  •  Proven ability to set-up, organize and execute fabrication projects; develop layout and material take-offs; fabricate piping components, equipment skids, and custom project  components.      
  •  Based in Fitchburg, MA, but some travel to project sites throughout US may be required. OSHA 40-hr training is a plus.
